Found this on my friend Kristen's blog, and was inspired to complete it myself! Here goes:
1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
- That's a tough one! I'm not really sure how to answer that. Physically, I'd say probably 25, so right around my age. But mentally and emotionally, I'd say older. Maybe 35? I've gone through a lot of major life experiences for such a young age, and that has definitely shaped my maturity level. I am light years ahead of the majority of my peers.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
- Definitely never trying. Although recently, I've felt like my professional life has been loaded with failure, I still wouldn't change any of the decisions I've made in my life. Must move forth and conquer.
3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
- Out of necessity. Life is filled with chores and responsibilities, like going to the doctor for example, that we don't want to do but that ultimately better our lives. We don't do the things we like because we lack the resources (time and money) in our day-to-day lives to be able to do so. That, and we tend to come up with excuses as to why we can't, or shouldn't do something. I'm guilty as charged.
4. When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?
I don't think so. I'd like to think I'm a woman of action, one who walks the talk. I'm very ambitious, and I try to make the most of every day and go after what I want out of my life. My mother's untimely death taught me not to settle in life, and I try to give back to others as much as I can. Of course, there is always room for improvement, but I make it a point to try my best at whatever I'm doing each and every day.
5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
- Gah, just one? Well, for starters I wish more people would discover God's love, and the way it can truly change your life. I wish people were more considerate of each other and put other people's needs first from time to time. I wish people took more time to enjoy each other and this great planet we have been blessed with. I wish companies and businesses took the time to train and invest in their staff instead of expecting others to do it. /Rant.
6.If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
- Baking and cooking. Writing. Traveling. Horseback riding. Spending time with loved ones.
7. Are you doing what you believe in, or are you settling for what you are doing?
-Right now, I am settling, because I'm unemployed. But, I'm trying my hardest to take advantage of my unemployment and use my time to find a job that I love. Until then, pretty much everything else in my life is on hold until I have the aforementioned resources to do what I love. We'll see what pans out.
8. If the average human life span was 40 years, how would you live your life differently?
- Probably would've had kids by now and gotten married much sooner. Spend way more time with friends and family.
9. To what degree have you actually controlled the course your life has taken?
- I don't know. I mean, I try and control it as much as I can, considering how much of a control freak I am. But I recognize and understand that there are certain things in my life that I have no control over. And to an extent, I think it's good to relinquish control in certain areas of life in order to let God's work shine through. So far though, I think I've done a good job of keeping myself on track.
10. Are you more worried about doing things right, or doing the right things?
- Aren't those kind of one-in-the-same? I guess it depends on how you look at it. I'm always concerned with doing the right things, but doing the right things based on what I believe is right in my heart, not on what the rest of the world believes to be right. And I believe in doing those right things right;)
Love that you did this!! Isn't it interesting? I loved reading yours. I'm working on part 2 now. :)
